ACE Participates in the 2014 SADD National Conference
Posted June 27, 2014
ACE traveled to the 2014 SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) National Conference, held June 23rd and 24th in Tysons Corner, Virginia , to spread inhalant abuse prevention messaging.
At ACE’s exhibitor booth, conference participants had the chance to spin the wheel to answer a question about inhalant abuse and win a prize! Many young people walked away with not only an ACE baseball or bag, but also knowledge of the dangers of inhalant abuse. On Monday morning, ACE had a workshop, "Inhalants 101" that taught students the dangers and warning signs of inhalant abuse. Many students participated in the workshop by reading personal stories of teenagers who had been personally affected by the misuse of inhalants.
At the end of the workshop and throughout the conference, students had the opportunity to sign the Strike Out Inhalant Abuse Pledge. Students then took a picture with ACE's instagram sign (photos can be seen on the Alliance For Consumer Ed Instagram page here.) Help spread awareness by signing the pledge here. All participants came away with the knowledge and the materials to educate others about inhalant abuse in their schools and communities. Many local SADD chapters left excited to use ACE resources in their programs.
