Update

Two things today:

1) It's ACE's birthday! Eight years ago, the Alliance for Consumer Education was organized and has been doing great things ever since.

2) ACE was featured last week in Philly.com's article, "Surface Tension". Colleen Creighton was interviewed and provided information about germs in the home. Information about how to keep your home germ-free as well as products that can aid in eliminating pests were mentioned as well.

FIGHT THE BITE Poster Contest 2008 (Grades 5-6)

A new Poster Contest Co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the DEET Education Program in collaboration with The Weekly Reader.

The contest is open to 5th and 6th graders and asks the children to create a poster showing people how to fight the bite of mosquitoes and ticks. Mike Berenstain, co-author of the popular “Berenstain Bears” book series, will be among the judges for the contest. Deadline for submissions is April 4, 2008.

Project LEAP

Congratulations to Queshia Bradley, ACE's Education Programs Coordinator, for graduating from the Project LEAP (Leaders Emerging through Ability and Potential) program last week.

CADCA

ACE recently exhibited a booth at CADCA's 18th Annual National Leadership Forum at the Convention Center in Washington D.C. CADCA stands for Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America, and this was the largest training conference for community coalition activists and substance abuse professionals.
