Striking Out Inhalant Abuse with the Schaumburg Boomers and the Midwest Aerosol Association
Posted August 13, 2014
On August 8th, the Alliance for Consumer Education (ACE) teamed up with the Midwest Aerosol Association (MAA) to help Strike Out Inhalant Abuse at the Schaumburg Boomers in Illinois.
MAA and ACE were present at the game to speak with fans about the dangers of inhalant abuse. Through a pre-game presentation and PSA video, ACE was able to address all attendees about the signs and symptoms of abuse. Fans were encouraged to stop by the ACE booth on the concourse to pick up more information. Throughout the game parents stopped by for information and resources on how to talk with their children about inhalant abuse. Teens also stopped at the booth to spin the Prevention Wheel and answer questions on inhalant abuse to win an ACE baseball.
During the 8th inning ACE was featured on the team radio station to discuss the dangers of inhalant abuse, signs for parents to be aware of, and ways to have the substance prevention discussion with teens.
A big thank you to MAA and the Boomers for their support in Striking Out Inhalant Abuse! For more pictures of the event visit ACE's Facebook page. To learn more about inhalant abuse and download resources visit www.inhalant.org.
