National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week
March 14th-20th, 2010 marks National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week (NIPAW). Every year, this week represents an opportunity to educate people about the dangers of inhalant abuse while supporting those who have been affected. Countless people are unaware of the dangers and fatalities associated with abusing household items for the purposes of “getting high”.
Fight The Bite Contest!
Fight The Bite is a tick and mosquito awareness contest sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDCP) and DEET Education Program. The nationwide contest is open to all 5th and 6th graders. Two winners from each state will be awarded a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. The two national winners from each grade will receive a $1000 savings bond. They will be recognized on an all-expense-paid trip to the Fort Collins, Colorado CDCP facility with their family in June!
CAPCO Video Contest!
A new year brings more than new resolutions. This year it comes with an opportunity for you to showcase your talent. The Consumer Aerosol Products Council (CAPCO) is sponsoring a video contest to help provide a fresh view of today's aerosol package. You don't have to be Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese because entries will be judged on creativity, humor, motivational effectiveness, content accuracy and production quality.

The NOYS -National Organizations for Youth Safety coalition is a network of over 40 national organizations and federal agencies advocating on behalf of youth safety and health. The NOYS network promotes collaboration at the national, state, and local levels emphasizing highway safety, violence prevention, alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues among youth ages 5 to 24.
Refrigerant Abuse Story-It Does Hurt Family Too
First of all I want people to know that there is more than drugs around here to get you high that you don't think will hurt you. Your right, it will kill you.
First of all let me tell you, I am Tommy's mother and what I had to go through really hurts more than anything. I would rather go through labor 20 times over than losing my child. My only son and first child.
